Anne Arundel Community College’s Business Administration and Accounting programs will provide you with a strong foundation in tax, auditing, financial planning, forensic, governmental or managerial career paths. Accounting-based career paths are among the most in-demand and well-compensated in the professional world. At AACC, you will be taught by certified public accountants, many of whom are still working. Your professors truly care about your professional development and are dedicated to helping you determine which area of accounting is ideal for you. Your education can lead to a rewarding career right now or prepare you to transfer to a four-year college or university.


Transfer Degree

If you're interested in earning a four-year degree or higher in accounting, business, economics or entrepreneurship, you may wish to consider the following Associate of Science (A.S.) in Business Administration. This degree will prepare you to transfer to a four-year institution. Whichever path you choose - career or transfer - we strongly encourage you to meet with an advisor to structure your AACC studies to meet your individual education goals.

You’ll gain a rich background in core business skills, such as accounting, statistics and business law. You’ll also complete common general education requirements such as English, math and science, so you are well prepared to transfer to a four-year program or college.

The following certificates prepare students for employment and/or further study.

Financial Accounting (CPA)

Designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, our Financial Accounting certificate will prepare you to sit for the Maryland Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam. You’ll take a broad range of specialty accounting courses, with the ability to choose electives in marketing, management, business law and more.

Professional Bookkeeper

Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to sit for the Professional Bookkeeper certification examination and to become a full-charge bookkeeper. You can also complete this certificate in only two terms.
