Naesea Price's love of teaching began at a young age. As a child, she would rush home to play school with her babydolls using leftover worksheets her teacher would allow her to take home. Her passion for teaching continues to this day. She believes everyone has the right to a quality education, and that everyone has the ability to strive toward their dreams.
Since 2004, Price has taught in higher education as an adjunct instructor at numerous colleges and universities across Maryland. She also has held a full-time position teaching developmental English since 2007. As a full-time professor she has been a coordinator for developmental education, and an advisor for the Complete College Baltimore program. She has taught an eclectic group of students with different learning abilities.
Before teaching in higher education, she worked as an elementary school teacher for Baltimore City Public Schools for 10 years. While there, she taught special education and learned to creatively deliver instruction to all students, regardless of their learning ability.
Price was raised in Baltimore and attended city public schools until 6th grade. She attended Catholic schools throughout middle and high school. After graduating high school, Price attended Villa Julie College and then the University of Baltimore, where she earned her bachelors’ degree in communications. While working as a special education teacher, she decided she wanted to do more to assist her students, so she enrolled at Towson University to earn her master's in reading education. Years later, she enrolled at Morgan State University to earn her doctorate in educational leadership. It is in higher education that she found her calling to assist students, especially those who start in developmental education, to become what they have always dreamed of becoming.
